OUR MISSION
Inspired by Gospel values, we grow spiritually through person to person service to all in need in our community. Our actions promote the dignity of the person, alleviate suffering and distress, while addressing the conditions that cause them through systemic change.

EVENT HISTORY

In 2021, Stan Marek and Bruce Marek announced they would co-chair an endowment campaign in honor of Archbishop Joseph Fiorenza for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Society has long been a philanthropic priority for the Marek Family, initiated by the late brothers Ralph, John and Bill Marek, and their mother, Granny Marek, who were faithful supporters of the Society’s mission for over six decades.

The Society is only present in 38% of the parishes in the Greater Houston area—but the need is so much greater. The plan is for this endowment to create a legacy fund that eventually generates $1 million annually, ensuring that this impact continues to fund the expansion of services in the future. As of today, the campaign has quietly raised almost $10 million in initial endowment support with a long-term fundraising goal of $20 million.
