Our Food Network serves ten counties in the Galveston-Houston area. It is comprised of the John L. Food Depot, our central food distribution center, and 23 parish-based food pantries.
Thanks to our partnership with the Houston Food Bank we purchase food in bulk, organize food drives, and collaborate with other food vendors to provide nutritious food.
Some of the most vulnerable populations are the elderly and children. Living in the inner city and rural areas makes it difficult for families to have access to nutritious food.
The Society's 23 parish-based Food Pantries in local neighborhoods help families have access to nutritious food. Additionally, our Vincentian Services Center hosts three community food fairs per month.
In 2018, we distributed over $6 million dollars’ worth of food assistance to residents of the Galveston-Houston area.
