Vincentians at our St. Patrick Conference received a call for assistance from John, a 40-year-old military veteran facing a rental increase.
John, deployed four separate times, came out of the military with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He spent five years homeless, mostly staying in shelters or on the streets, before deciding to seek long-term help.
"I can’t express how much the support from the St. Patrick Conference has meant to me. After years of struggling and being homeless, having my own apartment and a service dog has given me a new sense of hope. The assistance and prayers from the Vincentians have been a blessing. I’m grateful for the continued support as I work to rebuild my life."
John has his own apartment and a service dog and receives critical support from the VA. He expressed deep gratitude for our assistance. As our Vincentians prayed with him at the end of their home visit, they thanked God for watching over him while serving our country and asked that He continue to watch over him now that he is back home.
John's story is a powerful reminder of the impact that community support and compassion can have on the lives of those in need. Through the continued efforts of our Vincentians and the generosity of our donors, we can help more individuals like John find stability and hope for the future.
Uplift our neighbors, like John, who are in need!
