Mandatory Community Service
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul accepts applicants for court-ordered community service. Safety is our number one priority for all of our Volunteers. We will, given the right circumstances, accept Court Ordered Community Service for non-violent and civil referrals. Opportunities include the Resale Shops and Donation & Distribution Warehouse. There are different criteria for each department and availability depends on the current needs of the specific department.
Volunteer in St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores
To volunteer in our Thrift stores, you must have a minimum of 30 hours of community service to complete, be able to stand on your feet for extended periods, able to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs. and have no allergies to dust, dirt, or pet hair. Thrift store hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday -Friday and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday. You must be able to commit a minimum of two hours per shift. Weekend hours offer the most available positions.
Volunteer in St. Vincent de Paul Donation and Distribution Warehouse
To be eligible to work in our Warehouse department, you must have a minimum of 30 hours of community service to complete, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, be comfortable working outdoors, and be able to commit to a minimum of four hours per shift. Available hours are from 8 a.m. -4:30p.m. Tuesday–Friday and on Saturdays from 8am-4:00pm
