Seeking Assistance? Conference Assistance The basic unit of the Society is the parish-based Conference. There are over 70 parish-based Conferences in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Members, who are known as Vincentians, provide compassionate person-to-person service to people in need through home visits and food pantry programs. Assistance with rent, utility bills, and other emergency needs are just some of the activities of the Society. By clicking the link to the left you will download a list of our Conferences which have been categorized by zip code. Assistance is only offered by the Conference that serves the zip code in which you live. There may be more than one Conference per zip code, in which case, you will need to contact the Conference closest to your home. Please contact the Central Office if your zip code is not listed for further information and referral at (713)741-8234. Seeking Shelter? By clicking one of the links to the left you will download an intake form that can be filled out and either faxed to or emailed to our SVdP Village at earnest.dyer@svdphouston.org. You must first contact a Parish Conference and notify them of your need for shelter. After they are notified, you will then need to submit the completed intake form. Upon receipt of your intake form, we will first determine whether the SVdP Village can accommodate and care for your needs in the best way possible. Submitting an intake form is the first step in obtaining help from the SVdP Village, but it does not guarantee that you will receive immediate shelter. Our very capable and knowledgeable staff will evaluate your information and determine the best method in which to approach your unique situation. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (713)741-8234 |
